1940s Chartreuse Silk Halter Asymmetric Ruched Hourglass High-Slit Dress

In this gorgeous late 1940's 'Old Hollywood' seductively sculpted dress, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. This captivating garment is fashioned from luxurious liquid silk-satin in a breathtaking chartreuse color. The asymmetric hand-ruching gives the garment so much depth and interest. This workmanship alone must have taken days to finish. The bodice has a winged halter nipped-waist low backside design. I love the sparkling rhinestone strap. The alluring high-slit skirting, accented with metallic tassels and bows molds into a flattering wiggle skirt style. A pure work of art and a study in dressmaking technique. This late 1940's custom showstopper is in excellent wearable condition with no rips, holes or alternations. Perfectly working back hand set metal-zipper.
