Breathtaking and highly desirable Giorgio Sant' Angelo Klimt patchwork dress dating back to his iconic 1969 Fall/Winter collection. He first hit the fashion scene when Diana Vreeland asked him to create clothing for a desert location shoot that starred Verushka in 1968. This shoot is legendary and his clothing was instantly sought out by all the most fashionable women on the planet. This vibrant maxi dress, fashioned in velvet, cotton and metallic brocade, is a perfect example of his genius. It is thought that the golden patchwork garment seen in Gustav Klimt's painting of Adele Bloch-Bauer was perhaps the inspiration for the dress. I adore the square shaped neckline with lean sleeves that flair into a bell. The a-line skirted silhouette makes this garment so comfortable and effortless to wear. A rare piece of true wearable art.
