An ultra seductive and instantly recognizable Jean Paul Gaultier cream stretch satin hourglass mini dress dating back to his iconic 1988 spring-summer collection. This was the first year he used a 'Junior Gaultier' label in order to attract a younger market. The Junior line ran until 1994, when Gaultier’s unisex JPG label was launched. The Junior Gaultier name was reused in 2009 for a children’s wear line, which can cause confusion.
I absolutely adore the stretch jersey side panels and sculpted conical breast cups. The hourglass mini dress has a front zip closure and lace-up back in the corset style. So Madonna! Jean Paul Gaultier is described as an "enfant terrible" of the industry, known for his unconventional designs with motifs including corsets, marinières and tin cans. Gaultier redefined the corset as a symbol of female liberation and empowerment. This epic dress really is a brilliant example of his genius.
