Gorgeous documented Sheilagh Brown jersey dress dating back to 1975. Sheilagh Brown was a British fashion designer who began her career in the 1960's, as part of the Swinging London scene. She was among the designers for Stirling Cooper, working subsequently at Coopers and Quorum, before establishing the label Barnett and Brown. This gorgeous garment was worn by model and actress Joanna Lumley. In an article for the Daily Mail she quoted that this was the "dress that dares". This showstopper is fashioned is luxorious ruby red and black silk jersey. The bodice is a seductive heavily pleated strapless. I love the asymmetric skirting which reads so modern. Provenance: The Sheilagh Brown archive.
