An extremely rare and incredibly gorgeous 1930's beaded silk chiffon couture gown that looks like it just walked off the Paris runway. This exceptional French beauty is fashioned in the highest quality black semi-sheer silk chiffon that has been cut into a stunning eyelet motif and then lavishly embellished with glass micro-beads . I love the plunging low-cut sleeveless bodice adorned with a sheer illusion rhinestone panel on both sides. My favorite detail of this bias-cut garment is the heavily beaded wide band that molds around the backside in the most flattering way. So seductive and eye-catching. The exacting perfection of the flowing skirt is beyond compare. The type of workmanship on this gown must have taken months to complete. We needed to add many detailed pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. Extravagant garments from the early 1930's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with youthful elegance. The pictures say it all.

This early 1930's French couture dress is in excellent wearable condition with no rips, holes or alternations. I wouldn't be surprised if this creation was by a famous designer such as Chanel or Madame Vionnet, as it has all the hallmarks of a couture piece from this era. Slips on over the head with hand-set snap closures. Hand-stitching throughout. Only sign of age is some small wear to the nude illusion rhinestone panel back area. A rare museum-quality investment dress that will only increase in value.
