1950's Howard Greer Couture Sage-Green Draped Chiffon Strapless Gown

I can not begin to express how beautifully constructed this rare piece of wearable art is. Howard Greer was credited by Vogue magazine with "a sixth sense about the fashion future." He was the first major Hollywood costume designer to take the leap of establishing his own couture house. Greer specialized in dresses that he specifically designed to look captivating seated at a table; focusing on unforgettable necklines. His pieces took weeks to complete and required numerous fittings. They were also exorbitantly priced. This stunning sage-green sculpted gown is a perfect example of his genius. The dress is fashioned in the highest quality silk-chiffon that seems to float as you move. I love the low-cut fully boned strapless bodice with elegant ruched detailing.
