This ultra chic and incredibly rare Chanel sheer black lace ruffle-trim lingerie gown dates back to Karl Lagerfeld's epic 1994 Cruise collection. Lagerfeld revitalized Chanel when he became creative director in 1983, reinterpreting Gabrielle Chanel’s codes through a modern, often provocative lens. The 1994 Cruise collection was effortless yet subversive, featuring lingerie-inspired silhouettes rendered in refined materials. Claudia Schiffer served as the face of the collection’s campaign, embodying a quiet allure. Most notably, Lagerfeld himself photographed Schiffer wearing this very design at Èze-sur-Mer along the French Riviera which was later famously featured in Vogue France.
