  • 2006 Christian Dior by John Galliano Ice Blue Silk Velvet Asymmetric Draped Bias-Cut Gown

    ID: 0704241
    Size: medium
    Condition: excellent

A super dreamy and highly coveted Christian Dior ice-blue patterned devoré silk velvet bias-cut gown dating back to John Galliano's epic 2006 fall/winter runway collection. John Galliano is widely considered one of the most innovative and influential fashion designers of the early twenty-first century. He mingled his references in often surprising juxtapositions to create extravagant yet intricately engineered and meticulously tailored clothes. This well-documented runway look #41, red version modeled by Caroline Trentini, is everything you want in Galliano era Dior. We were thrilled to also find images of French model Charlotte Di Calypso at the Great Ball of Deauville wearing the same dress. The fabric itself is a masterpiece; luxurious ice-blue stretch velvet with an ethereal floral pattern throughout. The front bodice scoops low with gorgeous sheer silk peeking through. This gown has skillful draping and asymmetric lines which look sensational with movement. We added many pictures so you can see how gorgeous it is from all angles. The sensual bias cut full-length skirt pools to the floor like water. This style of skirting emphasizes a woman's seductive shape without adding any bulk or volume to the actual hips. This is the dress you will reach for anytime you want to be noticed. A rare wearable piece of John Galliano fashion history.

    Measurements
    (varies due to bias-cut design)
    Bust: 34-38 inches
    Waist: 26-30 inches
Hips: best up to 40 inches
    Total Length: 64 inches

This 2006 Christian Dior by John Galliano documented runway gown is in wonderful condition with no rips, stains, discoloration or alterations. Closes with hidden side zipper. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
