Unique mixed-lace dresses from the early 20th century are perennial favorites and this Julius Garfinckel and Co. garment is a showstopper. Garfinckel was a prominent department store based in Washington, D.C. that catered to extremely wealthy clientele. The garment's ethereal silhouette is so modern; the fine fabrics are a treasure trove of needle art. The dress is made up of three different laces which surprisingly work so wonderfully together. I especially adore the blue chenille leave motif embroidery. The 3/4-length sleeve bodice has a gorgeous layered design with dramatic sapphire silk-satin cummerbund. We are excited to add detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. A beautiful and angelic piece of wearable fashion history!
