Undiminished by time, this 1920's ballerina slipper pink beaded flapper dance dress still casts its magical spell. This exceptional French beauty is fashioned in silk chiffon with lavish pink, ivory and metallic silver beading. I adore the bold deco dots motif worked in. The hand-crafted pattern is really unbelievable; it must have taken weeks to finish. The inner camisole in trimmed with sparkling lamé lace. My favorite detailing is the scalloped hemline on the skirt which works flawlessly with the pattern. The skirt is actually made up of three intricate layers! We needed to add many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement. Extravagant garments from the 1920's remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined such opulence with such youthful flair. The playful drop-waist silhouette embodies the flapper's "party till dawn" attitude while the luxurious textiles whispers "wealth and status." The mark of a truly fashionable garment is that it remains stylish and timeless 100 years later, as does this couture piece. The pictures say it all.
