Christian Dior designed under his own name for only a decade, but his influence is everlasting. When the talented Marc Bohan took over as head designer in 1960, he continued the Dior tradition of elegant design and this beautiful dress is a wonderful example. The ivory-white double layered textured silk used is so fresh and modern! I love the low plunge mock-wrap sleeveless bodice. The figure flattering drop-waist flows into the most gorgeous two-tiered pleated flapper skirt. As Dior once said, "Elegance must be the right combination of distinction, naturalness, care and simplicity." This couture treasure is a wonderful mix of these elements.
