Ethereal 2006 white documented runway show-stopper from the late and great Alexander Mcqueen. He was known for combining superb tailoring with a dramatic aesthetic inspired by various historical periods, British and Celtic tribalism and sexually charged fetish wear. McQueen's thematic shows were as much theater as fashion, with each piece of clothing worked into a dramatic narrative plotted by McQueen. The fabric on this gorgeous gown is a fully-lined ivory white silk-crepe. I love the built-in gold chain collar, illusion net plunge bodice and lean, long zipper-wrist sleeves. This figure flattering garment accentuates the bust, skims the hip and flares out below the knee with a dramatic thigh-high slit. A hard-to-find and iconic early Alexander McQueen treasure.
