  • 1970's Granny Takes a Trip Documented Merlot Red Velvet Blazer Jacket

    ID: 0215233
    Size: medium
    Condition: Excellent

An incredibly rare and ultra chic Granny Takes a Trip merlot red velvet jacket from the closet of legendary Scottish rock singer-songwriter Frankie Miller. Granny Takes a Trip was an upscale shop operating from 1966 to 1979, and has been called the "first psychedelic boutique in groovy London". The store achieved worldwide renown, including a feature in Time magazine, and paved the way for many designer boutiques that followed such as Mr. Freedom, Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith. This luxurious merlot red velvet blazer was Frankie Miller's choice pick for his 1978 "Darlin'" music video. Even without the provenance, it's such an expectational blazer. I adore the lean, long sleeves tailored silhouette and mid length which looks fantastic open or closed. A truly stunning garment with rich history.

    Measurements
    Chest: 36-37 inches
    Waist: 30 inches
    Sleeve Length: 24 inches
    Total Length: 35 inches
    Shoulder to Shoulder: 16 inches

This 1970's Granny Takes a Trip merlot red velvet jacket is in wonderful condition with no rips, stains or holes. Presents beautifully. Fully lined and closes with original buttons. The garment comes with a detailed COA from Frankie Miller's past girlfriend. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
