There are lots of lovely 1930's garments still around, but every once in a while I come across one that sets my heart a flutter! This is an extraordinarily beautiful ballerina slipper pink fine chantilly-lace and silk chiffon sculpted gown. Old Hollywood glamour at it's finest. The sleeveless bodice has a low-cut plunge and asymmetric back shoulder-sash detail. The hourglass bias-cut skirting is accented with tiered of silk chiffon. The piece work to create this design with such delicate fabrics is truly extraordinary. I also love the scalloped hemline really look sensational with movement. Definitely a type of garment that would have influenced John Galliano while he was working at Christian Dior. Ethereal dresses from the 1930's era remain a perennial favorite, perhaps because no other period combined opulence with such playfulness. The pictures say it all.

This gorgeous 1930's gown is in lovely condition with no rips, stains or discoloration. Presents beautifully. Slips over the head with no additional closures. Only sign of age looks to be professional tulle backing to the shoulders for strength. Not at all noticeable when worn. A rare piece of wearable art that will only go up in value.
