Breathtaking late 1970's ivory silk-chiffon and rose-print lace dress from the iconic Travilla label. William Travilla designed costumes for films and also opened his own salon with best friend Bill Sarris. The designs in his collection became known for their "California" fashion as they were comfortable, elegant clothes that did not have the rigidness and restrictions like the Haute Couture Paris creations. From the ethereal dolman billow sleeves to the nipped bow-trimmed waist, this Old Hollywood inspired dress is spectacular. The zig-zag pleated skirting in particular is a marvel of construction because several layers of the chiffon have been used over the inner base, having a real feeling of depth and richness. Very chic, incredibly beautiful and totally timeless.
