As pictured, Beyoncé wore a very similar black sheer illusion built-in bra dress to the 2001 VH1 Vogue Fashion Awards. Dolce & Gabbana are considered the inventors of a Mediterranean style that draws its inspiration from women of Italian realism, sensual and austere like Anna Magnani, to whom they dedicated a collection whose key element was the 1940's slip. They are not looking for a retro look; Dolce & Gabbana turned to the past for innovation. The designers once stated, "We want to use the past to project it into the future". This highly coveted built-in bra bodycon gown is a wonderful example of their genius. The figure flattering double layered stretch silk hugs the body perfectly.
