Lanvin was recognized for her innovative approach to fashion as well as for her fine craftsmanship. She was best known for her modern looking clothing that gave women freedom of movement. This important French archival gown is fashioned from luxurious mid-weight silk satin in the the prettiest ivory crème color. The strapless nipped waist bustier bodice has fully boned corsetry with sculpted sweetheart and an asymmetric winged design. Definitely looks like a construction that inspired Vivienne Westwood. The skirting is draped on one side asymmetrically to wrap around in a flattering hourglass shape. The craftsmanship is simply amazing; the concept reads so modern and looks sensational when you walk. This rare Jeanne Lanvin haute couture dress is in beautiful wearable condition with no holes, rips or alternations. Presents beautifully. The garment closes with original French éclair metal zipper. There is gorgeous corset style boning throughout the bodice to keep the shape. After close inspection we found a few very faint spots to the silk and a very minor pin holes to the upper bodice seam which look to have been from a brooch. Please message for detailed pictures.
