A truly epic and instantly recognizable Halston couture ice blue semi-sheer beaded silk cardigan jacket dating back to the mid 1970's. Halston revolutionized the way women dress and is one of the few designers, alongside Claire McCardell and Norman Norell, to define what is American fashion. Throughout most of the seventies he epitomized the glamour, as well as the decadence of the era, becoming a central figure in the nightlife scene of New York's Studio 54. He was known for his flattering body-conscious clothing in jersey and silks. This breathtaking hand-beaded icy blue open cut cardigan jacket is a perfect example of his genius. The whole piece is densely covered in shimmering beads and sequins carefully hand sewn onto a fine semi-sheer silk. There are even hints of the color white throughout the garment to truly capture the essence of melting ice. The dramatic six inch long beaded fringe is wearable art at its finest.
