  • 2001 Dolce & Gabbana Black Built-In Bra Necktie Straps Backless Gown

    ID: 0709251
    Size: medium
    Condition: excellent

A super seductive and ultra rare Dolce & Gabbana black built-in bra backless bandage straps bodycon gown dating back to their 2001 spring/summer runway collection. As shown, a shorter version of this showstopper was look number 5, modeled by Caroline Ribeiro. The iconic supermodel Stephanie Seymour also wore this piece for an editorial in the September 2001 issue of Australian Vogue. Dolce & Gabbana are considered the inventors of a Mediterranean style that draws its inspiration from women of Italian realism, sensual and austere like Anna Magnani, to whom they dedicated a collection whose key element was the 1940's slip. They are not looking for a retro copy; Dolce & Gabbana turned to the past for innovation. The designers once stated, "We want to use the past to project it into the future". This gorgeous gown is a wonderful example of their genius. The fabric used favors the body; a midweight soft stretch rayon that hugs every curve perfectly. The alluring bodice has slip straps and a flattering black built-in bra which peeks out in such a flirty way. I adore the adjustable necktie which offers a teasing choker effect. The chic bodycon shape, paired with a completely backless bandage strap design, really creates the perfect 'femme fatale' vibe. This is definitely the dress you will reach for anytime you want to get noticed.
