Though not a runway look, this rare dress has the same iconic shell-button detailing seen throughout the collection. Alexander McQueen was known for combining superb tailoring with a dramatic aesthetic inspired by various periods and it's clear this gown is a beautiful nod to 1930's fashion. The fabrication is truly magical; luxurious navy blue silk satin with rich red-color threaded ivory shell buttons. The red-stitched shell buttons are skillfully hand assembled in the most magnificent striped motif. The bodice has an alluring asymmetric one-shoulder with a  sensational wrap around strap. I love how the gown pools to the floor in a seductive supermodel length bias-cut shape. The weight of the embellished buttons really makes the dress fall perfectly around the body.
