  • 2003 Christian Dior by John Galliano Tie-Dye Pink Yellow Print Silk Cropped Blouse & Bias-Cut Skirt

    ID: 0630261
    Size: small-medium
    Condition: excellent

This incredibly epic 2003 spring-summer Christian Dior by John Galliano vibrant pink and yellow tie-dye print silk cropped blouse with a matching high low bias-cut skirt is the perfect resort ensemble. John Galliano transformed Christian Dior with his theatrical storytelling, masterful draping, and ability to merge couture techniques with contemporary glamour. His unique, forward-thinking approach revitalized the historic maison and continues to influence modern fashion. Constructed in a stunning lightweight silk chiffon, this iconic two-piece set blends shades of shocking pink, coral, apricot, and sunshine yellow. The tie-dye motif creates the impression of watercolor pigments across the airy fabric. The flattering double lined blouse features a softly draped cowl neckline and cap sleeves that frame the shoulders. Side ties allow you to adjust the fit to your preference, and the slightly cropped cut reveals a sexy peek of skin. At the back, elongated silk ties wrap around the midriff and cascade into a fishtail effect. The alluring bias cut skirt skims the figure before releasing into a gorgeous asymmetrical high low ruffle hem composed of complex layered silk godets. Each panel is different, giving the lower portion wonderful dimension and a picturesque sense of motion. Along the side, Galliano's signature covered buttons provide a gorgeous finishing touch. Paris Hilton wore a similar style with the same print that year to celebrate the launch of the "La D de Dior" watch collection at the Christian Dior boutique in Beverly Hills. Increasingly difficult to find today, this archival ensemble is a wonderful example of John Galliano's ability to make elevated dressing feel effortless and exciting. Wear the pieces together for maximum fashionista impact or style them separately within any classic wardrobe.
