A highly coveted and absolutely breathtaking lifetime Alexander McQueen metallic embellished ivory wool backless cut-out dress dating back to his epic 2003 fall/winter runway show. This ornate piece was look 53, modeled by the beautiful Jessica Miller. The collection, titled 'Scanners' was characteristically extravagant, featuring a wind tunnel and an elaborate set designed to look like a tundra. Each ensemble served as a modern interpretation of traditional clothing from Siberia, Tibet, or Japan. Per Vogue, “The clothes, sculpted into [McQueen’s] signature nip-waisted, stiff A-line skirt silhouettes, exhibited all the intense craft and some of the shapes that he learned during his stint at Givenchy couture. It bumped his ready-to-wear up to a new level. The moments that made the audience catch its breath were those that betrayed McQueen’s softer, more romantic side.” This magnificent dress was certainly one of the more demure pieces featured on the runway.
