This highly coveted and strikingly beautiful Valentino persimmon orange silk strapless bustier gown dates back to his beloved spring/summer 2005 collection. Founded in 1960, Valentino’s iconic fashion house quickly became synonymous with high-end luxury and exquisite craftsmanship. While Valentino’s previous fall collection featured a menswear influence, this spring collection saw a return to his trademark feminine sophistication.
Seen as Look 61 on the runway modeled by Caroline Winberg, this gorgeous gown also appeared at Valentino's fashion luncheon charity event supporting the Boy’s Club of New York. Additionally, we spotted Chantecaille co-founder Olivia Chantecaille wearing the dress that same year to a New York Library benefit gala. The strapless sweetheart empire features oversized gold-tone grommets encrusted with sparkling rhinestones, through which a structured lilac-blush silk satin belt threads around the entire bodice. Tied into a fabulous bow at the center front, its long trailing ends fall toward the knees, creating an amazing contrast against the rich orange silk. An interior attached boned, slightly padded bustier provides hidden structure and support, ensuring the bodice stays in place. A stunning train extends from the back of the skirt, adding one final touch of drama. This special Valentino gown is perfect for a wedding guest or epic red carpet moment. Following Valentino Garavani’s passing earlier this year, his extraordinary legacy feels more meaningful than ever. This archival gown offers a wonderful chance to own an authentic piece of fashion history from the legendary designer himself.
