Extremely rare Ossie Clark designer marocain dress dating back to the mid-1970's. English fashion designer, Raymond Ossie Clark, was a leading light in the London swinging sixties fashion era and is now renowned for his romantic flowing gowns and seductive ensembles. This stunning garment, with beautiful 'Pretty Woman' deco floral print by famed textile designer Celia Birtwell, is a perfect example of his talent. The bodice has an alluring low-cut plunge with ruffle trimmed shoulders and billowing bishop sleeves. A pleated empire waist with built in sash that ties in the back finishes the dress off with the most flattering silhouette.
Ossie Clark’s designs are right in step with 21st-century style. His genius comes from his ability to borrow from the past but capture the spirit of the now, creating timeless designs with a strong sense of place. In Judith Watt’s book, Ossie Clark: 1965-1974, Anna Sui explains, "He dressed the woman we all wanted to be: the rock star’s girlfriend." So as long as there is rock, Clark’s look is one that won’t fall from style.
