An incredibly chic and highly coveted Chanel metallic gold floral silk brocade jacket with matching skirted shorts dating back to Karl Lagerfeld's epic 2013 resort runway collection. This ultra rare ensemble was look number 26; modeled by the beautiful Nimue Smit. Not only is this well-documented set an important archival find, it's also an incredible modern take on regal antique fashion. For this collection Karl highlighted Louis Quatorze's eighteenth-century court at Versailles, the focal point of a period that history recognizes as France's last Golden Age. Vogue stated, "Here, formal eighteenth-century details, like panniers and fichus, were re-created in casual twenty-first-century fabrics—chambray, tech denims, even plastics—dressed up with frothy lace ruffles and cuffs, and dressed down with gold platform trainers and short shorts." The end result was truly breathtaking. This set was famously photographed on actress Cara Delevingne and even graced the cover of Elle Russia. The fabric used to create this showstopper is glorious; the finest ivory silk brocade with an opulent metallic gold floral pattern. The jacket has an alluring wide shawl collar, cropped sleeves and a flattering double breasted bodice. Those CC logo buttons are so stunning we had to take close-up pictures. The matching skirted mini shorts have fantastic inverted pleat work on the sides which is so figure flattering. A truly iconic, instantly recognizable archival Chanel that would make an epic bridal or red carpet moment.
