1945 Lilli-Ann Black and Ivory Block-Color Wool Crepe Pleated Jacket Skirt Suit
$1,400.00
Lilli Ann was started in San Francisco around 1933 by Adolph Schuman, naming his company for his wife, Lillian. The company became known for their beautiful, elaborately designed suits and coats. This stunning documented ensemble from 1945 is fashioned in a fully-lined, medium weight wool-crepe. The construction itself is a masterpiece- pleated wool that seems to have an almost 3-dimensional feel but without being stiff or heavy. The workmanship is impeccable and has the type of seamed pattern work that one rarely sees today. The jacket has an amazing side button-down wrap design with bold shoulders and wide button-trimmed cuffs. The high-waist cocktail skirt finishes the suit with a perfect femme fatale vibe!
This Lilli-Ann designer documented suit is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or discoloration. Perfectly working side metal-zipper. Lots of wonderful detail; hand finishes and immaculate seaming. Only sign of age is a few very tiny pin-holes to the back of the jacket which are not noticeable when worn. This ensemble is over 50 years old and is truly a collector's dream.
