In this gorgeous 1950's Claire Schaffel designer cocktail dress, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. Claire Schaffel was a native of Switzerland where she had her own dressmaking establishment. In 1955 she opened her own business, making custom dresses and ensembles. This seductive garment is fashioned from the highest quality watercolor floral garden brocaded silk. The alluring bodice is fully boned with an inner corset to help keep the shape of the seductive off-shoulder cap sleeve design. I love the flattering hourglass nipped waist which channels the perfect femme fatale silhouette. The tulle-lined skirted cocktail construction is fabulous; full but not overwhelming. I can totally see an Old Hollywood starlet strolling down the street in this show-stopper. We added many detail pictures so one can appreciate the masterful achievement.
