In this gorgeous 1959 documented Helga designer dress, the detailed construction and meticulous attention to detail are comparable to what you will find in modern couture. Helga was established in 1947 by Robert Oppenheimer and his wife Helga Kallman Oppenheimer. Robert managed the business while Helga designed the formal wear for which the company became known. Based first in San Francisco but moving to Los Angeles in the early 1950's, the company was somewhat of an oddity in that most California clothing companies were producers of sportswear. This captivating dress is fashioned in the the highest quality blue-roses floral garden watercolor print silk organza. So beautiful! The bodice is an alluring sweetheart plunge with sheer 3/4-length sleeves. The chic satin cummerbund with front floral appliqué gives the garment so much depth. Breathtaking and timeless; this dress would be fantastic for any summer event.
