We are pleased to offer this important and incredibly rare documented party dress from the Christian Dior Couture collection of 1959 when Yves Saint Laurent was head designer. Yves Saint Laurent continued the Dior tradition of elegant construction and this beautiful garment is a wonderful example. The dress is fashioned in a stunning two-tone champange and pale pink silk satin color combination. It is easy to see the level of quality in this piece; there is gorgeous hand-finishing throughout. The corset pale pink bodice has a flattering wide scoopneck with 3/4-length sleeves. I adore the bow trimmed hourglass nipped-waist which was a signature in this collection. The champagne colored skirting has unique pleatwork that emphasizes a woman's seductive shape without adding any bulk or volume to the actual hips. A rare slice of wearable Christian Dior fashion history.
