Spectacular 1965 Pierre Cardin haute couture designer silk chiffon gown in the prettiest emerald green color. In 1951 Cardin opened his own couture house and by 1957, he started a ready-to-wear line; a bold move for a French couturier at the time. The looks most associated with Cardin are the collections of the 1965-1970, which made some of the most futuristic clothing of the era. This stunning dress is a perfect example of his genius. The construction of this garment is amazing- the bodice is embroidered with metallic thread, beaded, sequined & studded with dramatic rhinestones. I adore the ethereal goddess caftan silhouette which is so figure flattering. This is couture on the highest level with everything about the piece done to work with the rest. A beautiful work of wearable designer history. "The clothing I prefer are those I invent for a life that doesn't yet exist, the world of tomorrow!" Pierre Cardin
