Ultra chic and super sophisticated Burke-Amey graphic appliqué 3-piece ensemble dating back to their 1968-69 fall/winter collection. Burke-Amey was started in 1959 by designer Ronald Amey, and his business partner, Joseph Burke. Amey was known for his use of interesting materials and big, bold prints. This gorgeous black wool and emerald green silk showstopper is a perfect display of their genuine. The fabrics alone are a masterpiece; rich fully-lined woven wool with dynamic large-scale graphic emerald silk. I love the unique detailing of this set with its complex lines and modernist approach. The blouse, with built-in bodysuit, has a bold nehru collar and wide cuff billow-sleeves. The suit jacket has a flattering built-in waist belt and deco diamond appliques. Just look at those beautiful gold buttons. The matching skirt is a nipped waist tailored pencil that is cut to skim over your curves. It is refined, graceful and has workmanship of the highest quality. A truly beautiful three-piece designer ensemble and a beautiful example of the forward thinking from this swinging mod era.
