  • 1970's Bob Mackie Couture Beaded Strapless Hourglass High-Slit Gown

Breathtaking Bob Mackie pink beaded nude-illusion hourglass gown dating back to the late 1970's. Bob Mackie began his career as a Hollywood costuming sketch artist, working for both Edith Head and Jean Louis. While working with designer Ray Aghayan, Mackie soon began creating evening clothing for the divas who would make him a household name- most notably Carol Burnett, Raquel Welch, Diana Ross and Cher. These early Bob Mackie gowns are rare, as they were not mass marketed, unlike the later boutique label, and were incredibly expensive at the time. This heavenly yet seductive creation is a perfect example of his genius. Of all Bob Mackie creations, the netted liquid gowns are the ones you want. This showstopper is of the highest quality, full of bugle beads, sparkling sequins and has that perfect nude-illusion tulle base with hints of silver. I can totally see Cher herself wearing it! The bodice is a low plunge sculpted strapless that has full built-in corset boning to help keep everything in place. I love the flattering nipped waist hourglass high-slit silhouette which has such fantastic movement. I totally see this look walking down the red carpet or at the most glamorous affair. The pictures say it all!

    Measurements
Bust: 34-35 inches (can accommodate larger cups)
    Waist: 26 inches
    Hips: up to 37 inches
Length top to waist: 12 inches
Length waist to hem: 39 inches

This Bob Mackie designer gown is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. The construction of this garment is impeccable. Fully lined in silk of the same hue and full corset boning. Perfectly working back center zipper which is cleverly worked into the design. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
