Stunning and hard-to-find early 1970's Caroline Eavis and Anna Crosby Brown of London patchwork skirt ensemble. Eavis & Brown of London, as they are now known, seemed an overnight sensation when they designed Heather Mills' wedding gown for her marriage to Paul McCartney. Said to cost over $35,000, there was certainly a lot of press surrounding it. This gorgeous leather and suede appliqued set is from one of their first collections, when they were using full names. Unique earth-toned floral appliques on a mulberry suede base. The care to piece this together after carefully selecting matching hues must have taken weeks. The waist nips in at the waist while skimming the hips in a wonderful a-line shape. The matching cropped vest brings the set to a whole new level. A rare example of wearable art.
