Stunning Scott Barrie purple and pink floral print chiffon maxi dress dating back to the mid-1970's. Scott Barrie was one of a group of black designers and models based out of New York's Seventh Avenue in the late 1960's. Model Naomi Sims was a fan and often was spotted wearing his work which helped with his popularity. In the early 1980's he stopped his own label to work at Krizia. Because his own brand was only around for a decade and not many were produced, finding his pieces is very exciting. The print itself is glorious; a dense floral pattern in shades of pink, black, ivory and purple. I love the lightness of the chiffon; it makes it feel like the fabric is floating when you walk. The bodice is a seductive thin-strap plunge with a hidden side wrap design. A tie goes through the waist and wraps around as a chic sash. The flowing maxi length skirt finishes this garment off with the perfect ethereal vibe.
