  • 1975 Koos Van Den Akker Patchwork Cotton Silk Billow-Sleeve Bohemian Maxi Dress

Gorgeous and very rare Koos Van Den Akker couture dress dating back to the mid 1970's. The same garment is archived at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Koos was especially known for the incorporation of collage into his work and he always started a garment from the love of textiles together. This stunning dress typifies the movement towards clothes that was easy to wear and had a bohemian meets runway feel to them. The dress is made of a soft printed floral cotton with his signature patchwork and embroidery. Central half-circle shaped panel with rows of patterned cotton and novelty peacock ribbon work. The tie at the front bodice is so versatile; allowing you wear it open or ties. I also love those sheer silk billow-sleeves. The tiered lace skirting finishes this garment off with such a romantic vibe. The pictures say it all.

    Measurements
    Bust: 33-34 inches
    Hips: up to 40 inches
    Sleeve Length: 27 inches
    Total Length: 57 inches

This Koos Van Den Akker designer dress is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. Garment slips over the head with no additional closures. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
