A highly coveted and extremely special Michaele Vollbracht metallic embroidered colorful silk cape with stunning quilting texture dating back the the late 1980's. Vollbracht is among America’s greatest contributions to fashion. His prowess as an illustrator arguably surpasses that of Karl Lagerfeld. His designs were a marriage of unconventional cuts and witty, charming, and playful graphics. The cape, which came from Michelle Vollbracht himself, was originally worn by Mary Martin, the Broadway star of Peter Pan and South Pacific, for a performance before Queen Elizabeth. A luxurious green silk lining with squiggle accents beautifully complements the bright multicolor star pattern. The gilded metallic quilting wonderfully catches the light while harmonizing with the bordeaux, cyan, blush pink, and shades of green comprising the star pattern. The knee-length cape has a forgiving cut without consuming the wearer and little olive suede side vents for your hands.
