  • 1991 Thierry Mugler Runway Black Velvet Fuchsia-Pink Silk Sculpted High Low Gown

Iconic Fall Winter 1990-91 Thierry Mugler documented "Kessler" runway gown in the most flattering high to low waterfall shape. This legendary French fashion designer is known for bold fashion and edgy, sometimes even campy, theatricality. Though Mugler stopped designing his couture and ready-to-wear lines in 2003 to focus on photography and costume design, his work has a lasting legacy. This breathtaking black velvet and pink silk-satin dress is a perfect example of his genius. Not only is this number unforgettable; it is true wearable art. I love the winged puff-sleeve plunging with matching wide hourglass belt. The nipped waist flows into a unique sculpted waterfall hemline, with seductive coordinating hot pants. The best part of all is this ensemble has never been worn and still have the original price tags. A true piece of wearable fashion history.

    Measurements
    Marked a size 40
Bust: 34-36 inches (due to the bustier design)
    Waist: 25 inches
    Hips: Swing Sweep
    Shortest Length: 33 inches
    Longest Back Length: 47 inches

This 1990-91 Thierry Mugler runway designer dress is in excellent condition with no rips, stains or holes. Original price tags still attached. The level of work in this piece would only be found in the highest couture of today. Highly wearable and an investment piece that will continue to increase in value.
