Breathtaking and important 2010 Alexander McQueen metallic brocade dress based on runway look 9/16 from his final runway collection. Alexander McQueen's final collection was consisted of only 16 pieces. McQueen referred to the collection as “Angels and Demons” in tweets just weeks before his death. Sarah Burton, McQueen's right hand and design assistant for 16 years, said "He wanted to get back to the handcraft he loved, and the things that are being lost in the making of fashion. He was looking at the art of the Dark Ages, but finding light and beauty in it. He was coming in every day, draping and cutting pieces on the stand." McQueen could do opulent and dramatic like no other, but he could also do restrained right alongside it. The gorgeous metallic-gold and black large-scale print brocade is so regal yet the vibe behind the garment is incredibly effortless and chic. I adore the sculpted puff-sleeves and slimming pencil skirt design. A rare slice of fashion history in one incredibly gorgeous garment.
