Chanel is known to be one of the most luxurious and decadent fashion houses in the world. This breathtaking powder blue gown with matching full-length cape from their 1981 Spring-Summer haute couture collection, is a perfect example of why this couture brand has stood the test of time. Not only is this opulent creation very rare; it is so timeless and elegant. Fashioned from fully-lined silk chiffon, the dress has exquisite hand-stitched embroidery, glass beadwork and heavily embellished crystals in relief by the House of Lesage. The fabric itself is a masterpiece-couture embroidery houses such as Lesage were used for embellishment and represent hundreds of hours of artistic handwork. The tulip floral pattern in densely packed clusters have a stunning lifelike three-dimensional quality. The sleeveless bodice has a chic empire curved plunge. I love the matching sheer cape which has the most beautiful floral applique detail. We added many pictures so you can appreciate this masterful achievement. A true museum quality iconic ensemble that you will treasure for years and years to come.
